Our Umbrella Cockatoo Outdoor Aviary!
We are still in the inital stages of building an outdoor aviary for my homing pigeons. (This would be great for an umbrella cockatoo as well!) I was given a wrought iron awning from a fellow Freecycler. I cut it apart with a angle grinder w/cutt off blade and transported it with my truck and trailer. I'm then welding back together with my acetylene torch. It still needs quite a bit of work. I plan to pour a concrete base, weld up a roofing frame, and cover the whole structure with wire. I plan to enclose a section for the birds so they can get out of the wind if needed. I also plan on making a double entrance door to prevent the birds from escaping. This wrought iron frame is super heavy duty. I can hang on it with no bending of the frame at all. Here are a few photos of my progress - Enjoy!

"So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good!"
